6/4/12 - Gotham Rocks tour diary - Day 2 recap

We spent a lot of time driving the past 2 days and didn't get any time to update the blog yesterday. Even this one is going to be a bit rushed as we have to get to soundcheck at KC's Tavern in Pawtucket, RI shortly.

On Saturday night, we played one of our favorite venues, &quot; The Room&quot; in Brookfield, CT. This was now our 3rd time playing there, and each time is better than the last. The owners are tremendous and really work to promote local music. When we walked in, Vern was talking to the crowd and announcing that they were playing our friends &quot;Face The King&quot; on the radio right now and that they wear local bands merch. In his own words &quot;I'm pretty sure bands like Metallica and Three Days Grace don't need our help.&quot; Well, guess who looked pretty stupid at that moment? It was me!!!! (Chris). Just that morning I bought a brand spankin new Three Days Grace t-shirt to wear. hahaha. Do they need our help? Definitely not, but the shirt looks badass, so I have no regrets! lol

As for the show, there were a ton of great bands as always, including a lot of younger bands that are showing the future of rock music is very bright. Since this was an all ages show, the crowd was a little younger in general, which we always love because they bring such an enthusiasm. I think I speak for the band when we say the crowd was AWESOME that night. They were getting right up on the stage, bouncing their heads the whole time, and even busted out some line dancing! Us and Ghosts of Eden had so much fun playing that night. As a band, you really feed off a crowds energy, and then they feed back off of yours and it's this infinite loop of awesomeness.

Well - remember how I started this post by saying I'd probably have to cut it short? Well, here we are. I still wanted to talk about Sunday, but we've got to run to the venue right now. We have a couple days off later in the week, so I should be able to catch up with everything then. Until next time...

-Chris

PS
Also, we just saw that someone posted a video of our brand new unreleased ballad, &quot; Not Made Of Stone&quot; from the show on Friday night at Maximum Capacity in MA

Oh yeah...and Pablo got his phone. It's glorious! :)

Tour Lesson #1 - Never underestimate the level of traffic leaving NYC on a Friday in the summer! Since 4 out of 5 of us are native New Yorkers, this is pretty unacceptable for us to miss this point. After many hours in traffic, we finally made it to Maximum Capacity in Chicopee, MA in time for sound check. Pretty cool stage setup and lights and here's Rich and Angelina doing their best dance party host impression

<a href="http://instagr.am/p/LWVggItElp/" target="_new">http://instagr.am/p/LWVggItElp/

Shortly after sound check, we had to make an emergency mall run for Pabs to grab a black shirt he forgot to pack, and in the process he passed a Sprint store and fell in love...with a phone. The EVO 4G got released today and Pabs loves his new tech, so he put his name on the waiting list. Guess what we did this morning? lol

But...back to the show. We played with some great bands as always, including Sever the Drama, and our fellow NYC boys Ghosts Of Eden. The show also featured NoSho, Mass Theory, and of course, the national headliner - EYE EMPIRE. This is our second show playing with them, and they just KILL it.

We'll update further, but we gots to get some lunch and load in for sound check at The Room in Brookfield, CT. We's hungry!!!

Our "first" blog

Well, its hard to truly consider this our &quot;first&quot; blog since we update our <a href="http://www.facebook.com/charettamusic" target="_new">Facebook and <a href="http://www.twitter.com/charetta" target="_new">Twitter so frequently (and wrote blogs on MySpace back in the day), but this is our first charetta.com based blog. We've wanted to move our site to a new host and were going to hold off on any changes until then, but we've been so busy we didn't want to hold up new features until we move it. Plus...Tomorrow we are going out on a Northeast tour and wanted a non-140 character limited method to keep you guys updated :) We'll be updating both FB and Twitter, but want to try and do a daily recap as well.

For those of you who don't know, the tour dates can be found at the &quot;<a href="./shows.cfm" target="_new">shows&quot; section of our site. Here is the tour flyer below.

This tour is presented by Gotham Rocks, and features fellow NYC rockers Ghosts of Eden, and also includes the supergroup EYE EMPIRE on 6/1 (Chicopee) and 6/5 (Albany) dates. We are amped up (pun intended) for this tour!!!!&nbsp;

The next update will come late tomorrow night or Saturday morning (dependant on our internet access from the road)

-Chris
